Hello

My name is Veronica, co-founder of Serendipity Successful Solutions. I am excited to share my early childhood education journey that led me here, with you!

My Story

I’ve always dreamed of becoming a teacher, more precisely, a kindergarten teacher in an elementary school with an amazing class. I imagined planning educational activities for the children, who would be excited to learn, they would have fun doing it because I was going to be the best kindergarten teacher ever. I imagined getting out of work by 3:30pm and enjoying the evenings with my family, we would all look forward to summers off together. I was going to love my dream job and I couldn’t wait to make it a reality.

I got my degrees in early childhood education, elementary education, and special education with a concentration in Spanish. I was determined to land my dream job. Getting my degree took a little longer than most people my age because I had my three oldest children during my college years. I needed to take a semester off here and there and take some night classes and summer sessions. I did most of my schoolwork late at night after the kids were in bed or early in the morning before they woke up. It was an interesting college experience, extremely difficult at times, yet it was an experience that I would not trade for the world. I was blessed to have become a mother; I had beautiful children who helped me learn and evolve into the person I am today. While in school, I was working in a restaurant nights and weekends and was excited to get a job in a local daycare center during the day. I didn’t know then, what this would mean for my future. I was the lead preschool teacher for the morning session and in the afternoon, I would work down the hallway in the infant room. I loved my new job! I loved the children, the families, my co-workers (who became family), and the community.

When I finally graduated college, I eagerly sent my resume out to every school district in my community so I could land my dream job at last. Shortly after, I had my 4th child, and I was fortunate to be able to have him and my daughter attend the daycare where I was teaching. The days were long, and the pay wasn’t great, but I truly found joy in my job and was happy that my children were close to me. I continued to work and give it my all, at what I thought was great practice for my future dream. As I awaited the calls for an interview; somewhere in between planting gardens with my preschool class, creating masterpieces out of recycled materials, fingerpainting, and pouring my love into those children, I realized that I didn’t need to be interviewed for my dream job because I was already there, I already had my dream job! It was then, that I discovered my passion for teaching and learning belonged in early childhood education.

Although it meant needing a 2nd job for several years to follow, I continued my journey in the field. I went on to teach in a larger program for many years and later became a Manager and a Curriculum Coordinator, and then a Director. I earned a wealth of knowledge and experience by holding these positions over the years and continued to learn and grow in the field. I later became a Licensing Specialist where I was able to work with educators and providers of homebase programs, school age programs, directors of daycare centers, business owners, and children and their families. This work allowed me to make a difference in the early childhood field in a different capacity.

Over the years my co-founder and I have made tremendous positive impacts on so many, yet we have always said that we wanted to do more… and here we are! I am excited to use my experience and knowledge to continue to make a difference in the field and to promote the growth and accessibility of high-quality early childhood education.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me! I can’t wait to get to know you too 😊
